I’m a reporter in Dallas, Texas. I’m inquiring about the sale of the illegal alien costume. I was wondering if you had any complaints. What is the thought process behind selling such a costume? Do you feel it offends any community? Is the “green card” supposed to mean something?
Target announced today it is pulling it off its online site. Could you contact me about this costume? You can call me too.XXX-XXX-XXXX. I am doing a follow up story on other companies selling this costume.
Thank you.

Scareyou.com consolidates costumes from the biggest online suppliers. We don’t sell costumes. Instead we show available costumes side-by-side so people can choose which version or price point they like best. There is often a discrepancy in pricing, even for the same version of a costume. Once visitors choose their favorite costume, clicking the picture or the “read more…” link takes them directly to the merchant site.
Here is a link to 3 versions of the Illegal Alien Costume ranging in price from $29.99 to $39.99.
No, over 10,000 visitors a day – not one email or comment has been made about this costume. Until you asked about it, we had not looked at it long enough to realize what it was or form an opinion.
We want to offer visitors the opportunity to compare as many costumes as possible.
In our opinion Halloween is not a time to tread lightly and worry about everyone’s sensitivities. The very holiday itself is offensive to many religious groups. That being said, what community would find this offensive – illegal aliens?
If you look through the adult humor costumes section you are sure to find more blatantly offensive costumes, such as this one: Down for the Count.
We did not make the costume. Often accessories are used to make associations. In this case the green card is probably attempting to blur the distinction between an extraterrestrial with an alien in the other sense of the word. It’s silly and humorous.
Why? No one has to like every costume. Anyone offended by it should probably not buy it. If merely looking at it, or knowing it exists offends people – then I would ask: “do people have a right to never be offended?” If ever there is a time when we can all finally ignore the overly sensitive politically correct know-it-alls, it’s Halloween.
If everyone would mind their own business and quit worrying about what other people do, the world would be a better place. Lighten up and enjoy the holiday.

Target isn’t the only place selling it. It’s on sale at Amazon.com for $10 less! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LC72P6?ie=UTF8&tag=scareyou-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002LC72P6

Apparently it offended Target’s slave labor union.

Get over it….. This was funny, (unless you are an illegal alien and if you are, please leave your address so I can forward it to a friend) Shame on Walgreens and Target for giving into a small group of blackmail artists. We satire everything and everyone in the UNITED STATES of AMERICANS. I for one will boycott these two establishments. Maybe a majority boycott of these two companies will be a wake up call.

ntanya, If you are really upset with the sale of these costumes, then how do you feel about the afro wigs that are on sale every year.

Great IDEA RWalt!!!
Normal people, good people, real Americans should BOYCOTT businesses that give in to the politically correct nut jobs!!!
If this concept was to take root, the fringe wackos would be marginalized in a hurry. What a great movement that would be.

In any event, illegal immigrants do not have the same rights as citizens and opinions represented by oversensitive individuals should have no bearing on commerce in the United States. This costume is hilarious and brings to light that jobs in this country are being taken away by immigrants who have taken a short cut through or over the fence or though rivers and streams from both the north and south. The money made by illegal immigrants is not used in the United States and is instead sent to their home countries which is why income provided to illegal aliens does not help this country at all!

Unless your name is Squanto, Pocahontas, or Thathanka Iyotake, you’re ALL illegal aliens. Get out of my homeland, you white devils!

@Yellow Thunder Woman: We conquered this country fair and square, but being good sports we set up nice little reservations for the natives to live out their lives peacefully with comforts such as alcohol, tobacco, and gambling. Is a little gratitude too much to ask?

I think it’s a great political statement about how the US Government has been dragging thier feet on the imigration issue. I’m sure there are several people that would like to knock on the White House’s door wearing this on Halloween Night.
