Halloween is right around the corner and as usual, inspiration has led to several new costumes. Some of today’s most popular costumes mimic well known celebrities.

One of the hottest trends for this year will undoubtedly be the Sonny and Cher theme; easy to make and sure to generate an immediate reaction. Best of all, you don’t to have spend a lot as the essentials are inexpensive and easy to find.

Want to recreate the look of one of America’s favorite duos? Here’s what you’ll need:

Wigs- unless you have Cher’s long flowing locks, the ladies will certainly need a wig to top off the look.

Groovy clothing – music from the 60s and 70s was all about expression, often portrayed by the style of clothing. Be on the lookout for patterns featuring geometric shapes, bell bottoms, flower designs and most importantly, bright colors. If you really want to pull of Sonny’s classic hippie look, get yourself a cool mustache.

Accessories – last but not least, don’t forget a set of cool jewelry to accentuate the costume. Go with pieces that are bright and loud – something that speaks volumes and makes it look like you just stepped out of a time machine.
