Michigan Haunted House Reviews

Haunted House Review by: Nicole

This was the absolute WORST haunted house that I have ever been to. It costed 19.00 to get in, we had to stand in line for an HOUR. So the whole time, we were thinking it would be really good. It was a long haunted house. Most are like 10 minutes to go through. This thing was like a half hour. But it was stupid. In the beginning there was a movie that took about 5 or 10 minutes. You go through that, and you go into an empty room. There were ALOT of rooms with nothing scary in them. They would be kinda dark, but absolutely nothing in them. Through this haunted house, no monsters or scary things jump out and scare you, nothing chases you, or gets in your face. There are alot of fake things that make noises…fake witches, dead people, skeletons, etc. Towards the end you have to “defeat the wizard”…which has nothing to do with being scared out of your mind. You have to get gems…you have the opportunity to get 3…but to get the gems, you have to guess where it is out of like 100 choises. In one room, you have to pick the right broomstick out of 20 broomsticks. In the next room you have to pick the right book out of 100 books. In the last room you pick the right cup out of 50 cups. However many gems you get decides how many chances you get, to find the wizard. To find the wizard, you have to pick the right button out of 20 buttons. Its a very rare chance that you will find the wizard. I would say this haunted house is a waste of time. You pay for the very very very rare chance that you will actually get your money back. Other than that, you pay for the HUGE building that the event is in…and the building is empty and doesnt have enough scary things in it. DONT go to this haunted house. Its a waste of money.

Located in southeast Michigan. More gruesome than the first. It tells the story of a haunted bed and breakfast house located in Waterford, MI. The manor suffered a horrific plight, the owners and temporary residents of the quarters were brutally murdered. Tales say that the inhabitants of the home resurrected from the dead as spirits to seek revenge on Waterford citizens.

Haunted House Review by: Clive O.

This house is said to be actually haunted by a supernatural being in the appearance of a woman. She terrorized a local family in the early sixties, however they moved out in time before something terrible happened. Now the house still stands in Detroit on Market St. If you’re in to real life horrors then this is the perfect haunted house for you.

Event being reviewed: Phillips Mansion

Haunted House Review by: Clive O.

Located in Central West of Michigan in the city of Grand Rapids. It was built in 1864 by James T. Phillips. The Phillips family lived there for thirty-two years, and in 1912 Mr. Phillips died in his beloved home. Over the years the mansion took many forms, and during that time strange occurrences have been said to happen. The supernatural beings residing at the Phillips mansion are said to be nice entities, but like to tease the living.

To recap, there is the Asylum in the Hills Haunted Attraction in Chelsea. Talking about scary creatures running around in the woods is a little too creepy for me. Therefore, let’s move on to The Hacker House in Waterford, MI, the bed and breakfast home that is haunted. Next, is the real life haunted house in Detroit, MI called Cole Adams House. At last, there is the Phillips Mansion with ghost who super friendly, but super annoying. So there you have it, the best of the best haunted houses rated in the Great Lakes state.

Event being reviewed: Urban Legends

Haunted House Review by: Sarah M.

In 2005, my friends and I decided to celebrate Halloween by going to Urban Legends haunted house located in Warren, MI. We arrived at the Urban Legends around 9 pm Eastern Time Zone. The line was so long it was unbelievable but we waited an hour or so to get to the front of the line. It was finally our time, we were ready.

My friends were on the other side of me concocting a plan to make sure that they had someone on each side of them, so we ended up in a circle with our elbows locked. We walked in the room, which was dark. I could not see at all. So, we ended up going around in circles because of not being able to see and having our arm locked. So, imagine trying to go forward but you would end up spinning around it was so annoying. I let go of one of my friend’s hand. I used my freehand to guide us through the darkness since I was in front. The first character appeared in front of me I continued walking and pull everyone else who were somewhat scared but one of my friend lost the hand of the other so she started to run the other way and found herself in the corner with the character in front of her while she screamed “please don’t kill me” over and over again. I was laughing hysterically. We finally got her and continued moving.

The next room was made to look like the movie “The Ring” so “Samantha” was sitting in the corner next to the television. On the side next to us was a bed so we had to maneuver around the bed so that we did not have to get too close to her. I made it over because I thought it was pointless; seriously she was not going to do anything to us so I walk over to the other side of the room. My friends were still on the opposite side trying to figure out how to get across, while I waited for them. As they tried to cross the room “Samantha” jumped up and they back up and fell on the bed. All you heard was “Crack” yes they broke the bed; that made me laugh even harder than before. They finally made it over to where I was standing and we continued through the house. We made our way to the exit when all I saw was one of my friends jumping up in front of me, pointing back toward the man that look like Jason. Jason had a chainsaw in his hand. I was so annoyed and because it was so loud due to the chainsaw I could not hear her. I finally figured out that she was trying to tell me she lost her shoe by Jason and she was too scared to go back so I had to go get it. So I went up to Jason looked him in the eyes and got the shoes and head towards the exit. We finally made it out of the haunted house in one piece. I had enjoyed myself but only because my friends kept me entertained with their mishaps but the haunted house was not at all bone chilling or scary.
